Helping provide health options, working one-on-one, in central Wisconsin!
Our Mission is to promote health and wellness from birth through youth. Some may need neuromuscular rehabilitation, others may need healthy infant nutrition, and still others may need help to assist their families in the Wisconsin area by improving health options. With another emphasis on children and young adults with spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy and other neuromuscular disorders, the purpose of the Mandolin Center for Health & Wellness Education Inc (MCHWE) is to operate programs and instill a lifelong love of health and fitness for the Central Wisconsin community with these needs.
We will accomplish the objectives by promoting a highly adaptive team of volunteers and health-care personnel to help educate individuals and the community by:
The Mandolin Center will implement programs in four pillars of health:
1. Nutritional Health
2. Brain and Neuro Health
3. Physical Health
4. Social Health
The Mandolin Center focuses on the needs of people with traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, neuromuscular disorders, and also on its children and young adults for a long-lasting contribution for improving health outcomes. Encouraging physical activity and the quality of life aspects, with psychology of feeling, thinking and acting—in a positive manner—all help make confident and encouraging behavioral changes in health and fitness. By reinforcing assured behaviors and healthy decisions by parents, caretakers and patients alike, we improve the lives of the community—one person at a time, with one-on-one help. In addition, we gather, process and provide high-nutrition food resources to those families in need. Advancing general feelings of well-being, positive social involvement, and the opportunity to achieve personal potential—even with physical or neurologic limitations.
Being independent, and improving the quality of life of individuals through health initiatives, allows for more quality time socializing, interacting and learning with others.
Implementing healthy eating habits, coordinating functional snack programs, and health lectures, and providing nutrition for those in need.
Unique exercise activities to build neuromuscular pathways, Boxing, Drumming, and other Exercise techniques to help individuals become ambulatory and self sufficient. Utilizing new technologies in a routine for physical development.
Providing Anti-drug and alcohol awareness, Traumatic Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, MS and other Neuromuscular health assistance.
We increase the opportunities for participation. They are learning about nutrition, and enjoying physical recreation as well, improving social interaction, which is part of inclusion and integration. We love our interaction and a one-on-one feeling when it comes to broadening their abilities, and allowing for independence. Another benefit, removing barriers! It’s important to feel included and not have differences in choices. Every child and young adult should feel comfortable in moving about and accessing their personal hygiene needs. We are proud to assist, and will always do this, but it is another level of improved quality in feeling independent. Speech Language Pathology, working with Autism, and Workforce Training in Health and Food Science are other aspects of interaction.
